JDM of Washington is a Washington State importer of low-mileage Japanese engines, transmissions and parts. From our warehouse in Auburn and our second location in Kennewick, we supply mechanics, enthusiasts and businesses across the Pacific Northwest and ship nationwide.
Who We Are
We started JDM of Washington because we were tired of seeing good cars scrapped over a tired engine when a clean, low-mileage replacement was sitting in a yard in Japan. Japanese vehicles are retired early under strict inspection rules, which means their engines and transmissions often come off the road with far fewer miles than their U.S. counterparts. We import those units directly, bring them to Washington, inspect them, and put them in the hands of people who will give them a second life.
We are a small, hands-on team. The people who answer the phone are the same people who unload the containers and load your pallet.
What We Offer
Our inventory covers the makes that JDM swaps are built on: Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai and Kia. Across those makes we carry:
- Engines, from daily-driver replacements to VTEC, turbocharged and supercharged performance units
- Transmissions, manual and automatic
- Engine and transmission swap packages pulled together from the same donor vehicle
- Front clips and nose cuts for collision repair and conversions
- Wheels, brakes, and interior and exterior parts
If you do not see what you need, call us. New containers arrive regularly, and we can often tell you what is on the way.
How We Source and Inspect
Every engine and transmission we sell is purchased in Japan through auction and export channels, with mileage recorded from the vehicle it was removed from. That documentation is what we rely on for the mileage shown on each listing, and we are upfront that it is approximate and cannot be independently certified.
When a container lands in Auburn, each unit is unpacked, cleaned and inspected. Engines are compression tested and checked for cracks, leaks and physical damage. Before any engine leaves our warehouse, it is hand-turned 15 to 20 times so we can confirm the rotating assembly moves freely and the engine is not seized. We ask you to do the same when you receive it, because we want you to be as confident as we are. Units are then drained, palletized or crated and wrapped for freight.
Why Choose JDM of Washington
Quality assurance
We do not sell what we would not install ourselves. Engines and transmissions that fail our inspection do not go on the shelf, and the head and block of every replacement unit is backed by our written Warranty Policy.
Competitive pricing
Buying directly from Japan and running our own warehouse keeps our costs down, and we pass that on. Shops and dealers can ask about volume pricing and reseller accounts.
Expert support
Whether you are a professional technician or doing your first swap, we will talk through engine codes, included parts and fitment questions with you before you buy. We would rather spend ten minutes on the phone than ship the wrong engine.
Shipping nationwide
We ship engines and transmissions by freight to the continental United States, and to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and international destinations by quote. See our Shipping Policy for how freight works.
Local pickup and delivery
Customers in the Puget Sound area can pick up at the Auburn warehouse for free. Bring a truck or trailer and we will load it with a forklift. We also offer local delivery by quote.
Our Location
Our warehouse in Auburn, south of Seattle, is where containers arrive, where orders are picked up and where returns are received. Our team can check inventory for every part we have in stock, so call or email us before you drive out and we’ll have your order ready for pickup.
Our Mission
Our mission is simple: give Pacific Northwest drivers and the shops that serve them an honest, affordable way to keep good Japanese cars on the road. That means importing engines with real low mileage, inspecting them properly, telling you plainly what is and is not included, and standing behind the head and block when something goes wrong. We would rather earn repeat customers than make a single sale.
