It is meant to be read together with our Terms of Service and the other policies listed at the end of this page.

This website is operated by JDM of Washington. The online store, shopping cart and checkout are provided by Shopify Inc., which hosts the site on our behalf. Payment card information entered at checkout is processed by Shopify Payments, Shop Pay or the applicable card network, and we never store full card numbers. How Shopify handles personal information is described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.

JDM of Washington is responsible for the content of this website, including product listings, descriptions, prices and the policies published here. Shopify is not a party to any sale between you and us.

6. Intellectual Property

Unless stated otherwise, the content of this website belongs to JDM of Washington or is used with permission. This includes our name and logo, the text of our listings and policies, the photographs we take of our inventory, our page layouts and any graphics we create. This content is protected by United States copyright, trademark and unfair competition law.

You may view, download and print pages from this website for your own personal, non-commercial use, for example to keep a copy of an order confirmation or a policy. You may not copy, republish, scrape, sell, frame or otherwise reuse our content, in whole or in part, without our prior written permission. Using our product photos or descriptions in your own listings, advertisements or marketplace pages is not permitted.

7. Trademarks and Manufacturer Names

Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, and the related model names, engine codes and logos that appear on this website are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective owners. We use these names only to identify the vehicles that our used engines, transmissions and parts came from or fit.

JDM of Washington is an independent importer and reseller of used parts. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, authorized by or endorsed by any vehicle manufacturer, and nothing on this website should be read as suggesting such a relationship. The parts we sell are not new manufacturer parts and are not covered by any manufacturer warranty.

We respect the intellectual property rights of others. If you believe that content on this website infringes a copyright that you own or control, you may send us a notice under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512). Please email the notice to jdmofwashington@gmail.com with the subject line "DMCA notice", or mail it to our Auburn address above, marked to the attention of the Copyright Agent.

For your notice to be effective it must include:

  1. Identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed.
  2. Identification of the material you claim is infringing, with enough detail (such as the page address) for us to locate it.
  3. Your name, mailing address, telephone number and email address.
  4. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use of the material is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  5. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner's behalf.
  6. Your physical or electronic signature.

When we receive a complete notice we will review it, remove or disable access to the material where appropriate, and notify the person who posted it. If you believe material was removed by mistake, you may send a counter-notice to the same address containing the information required by 17 U.S.C. § 512(g). Please be aware that knowingly making a false claim of infringement can expose you to liability.

9. Governing Law and Venue

This website, this Legal Notice and every purchase made from us are governed by the laws of the State of Washington and the applicable federal laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules that would apply the law of another state.

Any lawsuit arising out of or relating to this website or a purchase from us must be filed in the state courts located in King County, Washington, or in the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington. You and we each agree to the personal jurisdiction of those courts. Nothing in this section takes away any right you may have under the consumer protection laws of the state where you live.

10. Dispute Resolution

Most problems can be solved with a phone call or an email. Before either of us files a lawsuit, we each agree to try to resolve the dispute through good-faith negotiation. The party raising the dispute will send the other a written description of the problem and the outcome they are seeking, using the contact details on this page. Both parties will then make a sincere effort to reach a resolution over the following 30 days.

If the dispute has not been resolved when the 30 days have passed, either party may bring a claim in the courts named in Section 9. This negotiation step does not apply to a request for an injunction to stop infringement of intellectual property rights, and it does not shorten or extend any statute of limitations. We do not require arbitration, and nothing here waives your right to participate in a class action.

11. Severability

If any part of this Legal Notice or any of our policies is found by a court to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, that part will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary and the remaining provisions will stay in full effect. Our failure to enforce a provision on one occasion does not mean we have waived the right to enforce it later.
